Acquisition and Termination of Membership:
A member applying for membership is required to send an application containing his/her membership identity information and address to ECCA in writing or by mail. ECCA’s management executive committee shall, within two weeks, make a decision on the application and notify the applicant of its decision in writing or by mail and the committee may reject the application without cause.
2. The membership of a member of the Management Executive Committee may only be terminated through a special voting procedure, in which case the member shall be notified of such termination by way of a written statement and registered mail, within the last three months of the conclusion of a fiscal year.
3. A member who has defaulted on payment of his/her membership dues for more than a year may be subject to revocation of his/her membership by resolution of the Management Executive Committee; provided that the committee shall, three months before the one-year anniversary of the member’s default on payment of his/her membership dues, notify the member to pay, in writing or by mail, and give account of the risk of membership revocation due to default.
4. If a member’s act is detrimental and runs counter to the objectives of ECCA, the Management Executive Committee shall have the authority to revoke the membership of the said member. One month after receipt of a notice of membership revocation, the relevant member shall have the right to lodge an objection, and the committee will make its final decision by a resolution.
5. If a member who serves as a permanent representative of an overseas branch of ECCA, acts in contradiction to the objectives and principles of ECCA, the committee shall have the authority to propose the dismissal of, and resolve to dismiss, the member’s permanent representative status and membership, in which case the member will have no right to object if he/she is dismissed as such permanent representative.
6. Member’s membership will terminate upon decease of such member, or automatically terminates upon dissolution of ECCA.”
Membership dues:
1. Membership dues will be collected by ECCA from individual or corporate members. Commencing from his/her admission, a member shall pay his/her annual membership dues each January for the corresponding year. The amount of the membership dues shall be proposed by the Management Executive Committee and determined through a vote at the General Assembly of Members.”
2. All members of ECCA may make donations to ECCA.
3. All advisory members and honorary members of ECCA are exempt from paying membership dues.
4. The Management Executive Committee may propose waiver of and resolve to waive, a portion of the membership dues under special circumstances.”
Rights and obligations of members:
1. Every member has the equal right to freely elect or be elected, a member of the Management Executive Committee.
2. Each member is entitled to participate in all activities of ECCA and to have access to the benefits and resources provided by ECCA.
3. Each member is entitled to seek necessary assistance and cooperation from ECCA.
4. Each member may choose to participate in any activity of ECCA in the light of his/her needs.
5. ECCA undertakes to protect the privacy and all relevant rights of its members.
